Our spy photographers have nabbed numerous examples of the facelifted Porsche 911 family over the past year, and their latest encounter was with a 911 GT3 Touring prototype.
At first glance, you might be tempted to say you cannot spot any differences. After all, the 911 series has retained its iconic looks for the last few decades, but true enthusiasts know that Porsche has constantly upgraded it. And they are in the process of doing that again, as a mid-cycle refresh of the 992 is right around the corner.

Now, about that styling, it is clear that one of the biggest novelties will revolve around the headlamps. The pictured tester had turn signals integrated into the main clusters. Therefore, it is safe to assume that it features a new front bumper with no indicators this time around. We expect it to sport a new bumper at the rear, too, and different taillights, in addition to the possible mechanical upgrades that might see a bit more power added to the 911 GT3.

You see, the current 911 GT3 has 503 hp (510 ps/375 kW) produced by its naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six and 346 pound-feet (469 Nm) of torque. This allows it to deal with the zero to sixty-two mph (0 to 97 kph) acceleration in 3.2 seconds when ordered with the auto 'box, or 3.7 seconds with the stick shift, and a top speed of 197/199 mph (317/320 kph), respectively. The 911 GT3 RS and the new 911 S/T are a bit punchier with 518 hp (525 ps/386 kW) on tap, so we could assume that the facelifted GT3 will get the same lump for slightly improved performance.

Unlike the latest batch of scoops that do not show the interior, previous spy shots of the facelifted Porsche 911 (992.2) family have revealed a glimpse of the cockpit. Here, the sports model features a digital instrument cluster behind the new steering wheel, a touch that could upset purists, but it will make the series feel a bit more modern (not that it's aging – yet). Several outlets believe the center console might be updated, and we could also expect some fresh upholstery and trim options to further draw the line between the current iteration and the facelift.

The Zuffenhausen company continues keeping the unveiling date of the facelifted 911 close to its chest, but we can expect the first models to be unveiled sometime this fall. Deliveries will probably commence before the end of the year. On the other hand, the GT3 and GT3 Touring, as well as other versions, could be approximately a year away from being shown to the world. Chances are the facelifted GT3 will launch as a 2025 model in our market.
