Not long ago, we heard Jeep dropped the pricing and specification sheet for the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid mid-size unibody SUV for the Land Down Under. And because they're only selling the range-topping Summit Reserve 4xe trim level, there's naturally a hefty premium compared to the US model's MSRPs.
Well, that was to be expected since at home in America, the base Grand Cherokee 4xe already starts at no less than $60,360 – meaning that one would have to be a revered at-home charging faithful to keep the plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee from sipping expensive gasoline at the petrol station because bringing one example of the luxury SUV at home certainly won't be cheap either.

That's an interesting strategy from Jeep, especially since their Grand Cherokee range has expanded into a different territory than just a few years ago. Back then, the 707-hp Trackhawk was making the law among high-performance SUVs, and now even the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is more powerful and marks the end of the big Hemi V8 era with a family-oriented seven-seat configuration. Speaking of the latter, the fifth generation Grand Cherokee (WL) can also be had as a larger L model.

So, Grand Cherokee Ls for the family, Grand Cherokee 4xe PHEVs for the eco-conscious buyers – what could be next down the line? Well, if we are not so sure in the real world, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is probably better prepared to give us an unofficial answer. And, if we listen to Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, who has taken up the task of revealing a refreshed SUV - in CGI, then we should all expect a silent 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee!

As per tradition, the author does not offer any explanations regarding his hypothetical creations – so we just have to extract all hints from the renders presented in the video embedded below. From a distance, this looks like any other presentation of an upcoming mid-life cycle refresh, where the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee would become a tad boxier than before. Still, it's an elegant portrayal of a digital facelift – though everyone should still take all this with a healthy dose of salt until we have official word from the Stellantis-owned 4x4 automaker.

However, if we delve into the details, one should notice that the seven-slat grille is fake now, and any air needed for the powertrain only enters from below. Additionally, the rear does not reveal any exhaust system of any kind, making us believe that the author either forgot to notify us this is a facelift mixed with the introduction of a full-EV version or just a test to see if we are paying attention to his designs. Anyway, should we be worried about the Grand Cherokee going fully electric or not?
