Jeep has just dropped the pricing and specification details of the Grand Cherokee 4xe, which will arrive at dealers Down Under in August. The model will be available in the Summit Reserve 4xe trim level, which is the range-topping flavor of the range.
Pricing starts at AU$129,950, equaling US$88,005, which makes it roughly US$10,000 pricier than the US model. Power is supplied by the turbocharged 2.0-liter mill and two electric motors for a grand total of 280 kW (380 ps/375 hp) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. The 17.3 kWh battery pack gives it an electric range of 52 km (32 miles) on the NEDC cycle, and it drinks 3.2 l/100 km (73.5 mpg US) combined.

It features an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, and in the proper configuration, it can tow up to 2,772 kg (6,111 lbs). The charging time varies between less than ten and under three hours, with the latter achievable at a 7.4 kWh connection. Built at the new Detroit Assembly Complex, the Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve operates as a hybrid when the battery nears its minimum state of charge and features air suspension for a more comfortable drive.

Available in eight exterior colors and riding on 21-inch alloys, the plug-in hybrid version of the Grand Cherokee has a black roof, automatic LED headlamps with auto high-beam control, and a two-speed active transfer case with low-range gear. Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, Active Lane Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Driving Assist, Pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking with Cyclist Detection, ParkSense, 360-degree camera system, Traffic Sign Information, and others are included.

Speaking of the on-board gear, Australia's Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe also comprises the leather-trimmed seats in Tupelo (optional) and Black (standard) with electric adjustment and massaging function up front, ventilated first and second-row (outboard), four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. A premium audio system with 19 speakers is included, and so are the 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment with smartphone integration and 10.25-inch digital dials. The North American automaker says that the head-up display, wireless charging pad, front passenger display, and night vision camera are optional.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee family Down Under also includes the Night Eagle, Limited, Overland, and Summit Reserve. Our market comprises the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve, kicking off from $40,030 for the former with two-wheel drive and $2,000 more with four-wheel drive. The Summit Reserve 4x4 is a $69,435 affair, before destination and dealer fees, with two rows of seats. Opt for the three-row derivative, and the pricing will go up to at least $71,435. The 4xe lineup is made of six models, with pricing varying between $60,360 and $78,320, excluding destination, dealer fees, and options.
