With some design elements inspired by the 1965 Ford Mustang GT, this is a limited-edition deal available solely on 1,965 examples of 2025 Mustangs – and they all have to be GT Premium models, either fastback coupe or cabriolets.
Officially, the iconic Ford Mustang is 60 years old. Some folks would probably think about retirement at that age – but not the legendary pony car. Instead, it just got its seventh generation up and running last summer in EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse form, complete with typical two-door Fastback coupe and Convertible body forms.

There's also a Mustang GTD coming, but that one plays in a completely different league – that of supercars. Instead, the base EcoBoost Fastback has a starting MSRP of less than $31k, whereas the 480 to 486-hp Mustang GT equipped with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 can be had from less than $42k. However, these two won't have access to the celebratory Mustang 60th Anniversary package.

That's because Ford is only offering it when selecting the 2025 Mustang GT Premium trim – which currently starts from $46,480 for the 2024 model year in coupe form or $51,980 as a Convertible. It remains to be seen how much the 2025 Mustang is going to cost, and we bet it won't be cheaper than the outgoing model year. Alas, that's not the biggest caveat – that would be its ultra-limited availability: just 1,965 cars will be equipped with the Mustang 60th Anniversary package. Obviously, they're focusing on collectability rather than broad availability.

Well, it remains to be seen how that turns out – during the first quarter of the year, the 2024 Ford Mustang beat the discontinued sixth-generation Chevy Camaro and L-bodied Dodge Challenger, but its 13,707 deliveries were less than the 14,711 units sold during the first three months of last year when the S550 was still available. Anyway, back to the Mustang 60th Anniversary package now.

"The design was directly inspired by the clean silhouette of the original car," explains Stefan Taylor, senior designer. "During the design process, we looked closely at the finely detailed elements of the 1965 Mustang, like the fender badges and wheel center caps. Our focus was capturing the feel of the '65 while also staying true to the Mustang as the modern sports car that it is."

The key features include bespoke 60th Anniversary badges on the fenders and trunk lid inspired by the 1965 Mustang cloisonné emblems, exclusive 20-inch wheels finished in Dark Gravity Gray with Vermillion Red details, and a retro-themed stamped aluminum center cap, fresh side graphics offered in Iconic Silver or Vermillion Red to remind us of Mustang's original rocker panel stripes, a different grille with new mesh design and functional silver-accented nostrils as a callback to the first generation, smoked Mustang Nite Pony headlights, and serialized 60th Anniversary instrument panel badges.

The choice of colors is strict - classic Wimbledon White, modern Race Red, and Vapor Blue hues combined with Iconic Silver mirror caps on Race Red, chrome mirrors on Vapor Blue, and body-colored units on the Wimbledon White. Meanwhile, the choice is just as simple inside: Space Gray, Carmine Red, or Black Onyx. The celebration package will be available to order starting later this year during the summer season with availability on sale kicking off during the fourth quarter of the year - pricing details will be shared closer to those dates.
