When YouTube informed me that Dodge published a new video titled "Think Twice," yours truly thought about two things. First and foremost, yet another ad that glorifies the third-gen HEMI in all its forms. And secondly, Think Twice is also the title of a groovy song from Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band.
An unassuming ad at first glance, the 15-second clip in question stars a slightly different version of the Charger Daytona SRT concept that Dodge unleashed in August 2022. More specifically, we're dealing with circular headlamps instead of concept's deeply recessed headlights. The C-shaped vent in the hood carries over, and so does the three-door body style.

It's kind of strange to see a two-/three-door Charger after so many years of the four-door sedan, but remember that the first-gen Charger was a two-door fastback. Offered between the 1966 and 1967 model years, the original Charger came with a varied selection of V8 mills, including the 426-ci Hemi.

Unfortunately for V8 loyalists, the 2025 model year isn't expected to feature any kind of eight-cylinder muscle. In addition to rear- and bi-motor electric powertrains, the Hurricane inline-six engine of the Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram 1500 will have to suffice. In the half-ton pickup, the twin-turbo sixer is estimated to make 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet (706 Nm in metric) at the flywheel.

Clearly not as exciting as the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that Chrysler refers to as the Hellcat, the Hurricane is punchier than the S58 straight-six lump of the BMW M3 Competition xDrive. Speaking of which, all-wheel drive in combination with ZF's eight-speed automatic sounds like a tantalizing proposition for the heavily anticipated 2025 Dodge Charger.

Described as being a pre-production model, the redesigned concept from the Christmas-themed ad served as inspiration for Halo oto's latest rendering. The speculative design study includes Challenger-like mirrors, which suit the vehicle rather well. But alas, the pixel artist forgot to render the pre-production model's alloy wheels and driver's door handle.

There's no denying that the real thing will be a looker, and speaking of which, the 2025 Dodge Charger will go on sale in late 2024. It's not clear which powertrains will go on sale first. Ideally, the Chrysler-owned brand will offer both electric powertrains and the aforementioned turbo six.

When it comes to zero-emission choices, the least powerful of the bunch will develop 455 electric ponies. At the other end of the spectrum, the most powerful 400-volt setup develops 670 horsepower. The 800-volt setup is referred to as Banshee rather than Daytona, and for the time being, we do know that it produces in excess of 800 horsepower.

This generation of the Charger is based on the Stellantis STLA Large platform. To date, the cross-border merger between Fiat Chrysler and Groupe PSA confirmed STLA Large production at two facilities: Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada and Cassino Assembly Plant in Italy. The Windsor plant currently produces minivans, whereas stabilimento Stellantis di Cassino produces the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Stelvio, and the Stelvio-derived Maserati Grecale.
