Mazda's CX-30 family is about to become a bit more interesting in the Land Down Under, courtesy of a few key upgrades. One of the novelties is the introduction of the new GT SP grade.
Slotting between the Touring and the flagship Astina, the new Mazda CX-30 GT SP sets itself apart by featuring a black grille, piano black side mirror casings, and a set of alloys finished in… you guessed it, black.

A glass sunroof with tilt and sliding functions complements the Burgundy leather upholstery. The heated steering wheel and front seats with heating function are also standard, and the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included. Mazda also mentions the 10.25-inch infotainment system and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Pricing for the 2024 CX-30 GT SP variant starts at AU$42,190 (equal to US$26,817), and you could also get it with the Vision Technology Pack from AU$43,490 (US$27,644). The bundle comprises the 360-degree view monitor, front cross-traffic alert, driver monitoring, and cruising and traffic support. On the Pure, Evolve, and Touring trim levels, the bundle also adds the 10.25-inch infotainment screen, as well as front parking sensors on the former two.

Other novelties when it comes to the 2024 Mazda CX-30 family Down Under include the Ceramic Metallic and Zircon Sand Metallic paint finishes. Moreover, the front-wheel drive G20 cars come with a new 2.0-liter Skyactiv G engine, which is said to return 6.3 l/100 km (37.3 US mpg). It emits 147 g/km of CO2 and produces 114 kW (155 ps/153 hp) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque. The e-Skyactiv X 2.0L mill is no longer part of the offering.

Carrying over unchanged for the new model year, the G25 continues to use the 2.5-liter Skyactiv G, making 139 kW (189 ps/186 hp) and 252 Nm (186 lb-ft). This powertrain comes with an optional all-wheel drive system on the GT SP and Astina. All cars feature the same six-speed automatic transmission to deliver the thrust to the front wheels or to both axles, depending on the specification.

Set to go on sale locally in January, the 2024 Mazda CX-30 lineup kicks off from AU$32,990 (US$20,969) with the entry-level G20 Pure. The G20 Evolve follows from AU$34,690 (US$22,050), and for the G20 Touring, customers will have to pay at least AU$38,690 (US$24,593). The Astina completes the G20 family, priced from AU$43,890 (US$27,899).

The G25 lineup comprises the Touring, GT SP, and Astina and starts from AU$40,190 (US$25,546), AU$42,190 (US$26,817), and AU$45,390 (US$28,851), respectively. All versions can also be ordered with the optional Vision Technology Pack, whose pricing varies depending on the trim level and selected powertrain. These are all manufacturer's list prices, and they exclude the on-road and dealer delivery costs.
