Following its European unveiling back in May, the new generation Honda CR-V is now gearing up for launch in the United Kingdom. The crossover is offered in three distinct trim levels with two powertrain options, and the order books will open on Monday, 14.
Offered with electrified drivetrains only, the 2024 Honda CR-V is available with self-charging and plug-in hybrid assemblies. Both use a 2.0-liter engine with no forced induction and as you can assume, the latter, which offers up to 50 miles (80 km) of electric driving, will be pricier.

The PHEV variant of the new-gen Honda CR-V is offered from £53,995 (equaling $68,688) on the road, and it's available in a single trim level called Advance. A quick look on the brand's local website reveals that it features LED headlights, a power tailgate, a panoramic glass roof, keyless entry & go, heated front seats, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather, a wireless charging pad, a multi-view camera system, and the Honda Sensing 360 bundle of safety gear.

Getting the 2024 CR-V Hybrid means having to choose between two trim levels. This model comes in the Elegance and Advance versions, and the latter gets all the features of the eponymous plug-in hybrid, bar the My Honda+ and Honda Parking Pilot. It starts at £48,995 ($62,327), and for the entry-level self-charging hybrid, interested parties will have to pay at least £45,895 ($58,384). That's a bit less than the entry-level BMW X3, which can be ordered from £47,295 ($60,164) in the United Kingdom. This version of the crossover gets the Honda Connect, keyless entry and go, a digital driver's display, a wireless charging pad, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating, and a few other features.

In our market, the new Honda CR-V is offered in multiple grades and kicks off at $29,500 for the entry-level LX, which uses a 190-horsepower turbocharged engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The EX variant can be ordered from $32,010, and the EX-L from $34,660. For the Sport Hybrid, with its 204-horsepower two-motor hybrid powertrain, you will have to fork out at least $33,350. The electrified variant is also offered in the Sport-L Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trim levels, which have respective MSRPs of $36,350 and $39,500.

Sporting a bigger footprint compared to its predecessor, a new design inside and out, and additional gizmos, the new generation Honda CR-V was unveiled last summer. It is based on an updated global architecture that makes the ride smoother and improves stability, the Japanese automaker says, and it has been available to order in the United States for almost a year, with the hybrid variants joining the family not long after the ICE-powered models went on sale.
