Ford took another look at the Bronco Raptor and decided it needed a few more black accents. Thus, they have come up with the aptly named Black Appearance Package, which adds a few dark touches to several exterior components.
Unveiled during the April 8 solar eclipse in front of 150 Bronco owners, the new Ford Bronco Raptor Appearance Package is an all-show with no extra-go proposal. Thus, if you secretly hoped it would improve the 4x4's driving credentials and performance, you may be disappointed to learn that it doesn't.

So, what makes the tough off-roader more special when ordering the new black bundle? Well, that would be a Shadow Black finish on the roof. A similar take on the side mirror caps joins the optional makeover alongside the fender flares and roll bar, which all feature the same hue. The Blue Oval also mentions the Matte Black skid plate, steel bumper, and tow hooks, further contrasting the selected paint finish.

According to the model's brand manager, Jason Hyde, the bundle gives owners "a look that stands out on any trail and under any sky, even a total solar eclipse." But how much do you think the new Black Appearance Package costs? That would be a cool $4,995, which is the MSRP.

Comparing it to the Bronco Raptor's manufacturer's suggested retail price of $90,035, it adds up to $95,030. Factoring the destination charge and those greedy dealer fees, and you will have to fork out a six-digit sum – excluding any other options you may think of.

Elsewhere, the 4x4 retains the same features, including the semi-active dampers, 37-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around the 17-inch wheels, removable doors, and top, LED lighting units at the front and rear, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, 12-inch digital gauge cluster, an equally-sized touchscreen infotainment system, and others.

Ford's Bronco Raptor uses a ten-speed automatic transmission hooked up to a 3.0L V6. The turbocharged engine kicks out 418 horsepower (424 ps/312 kW) and 440 pound-foot (597 Nm) of torque on premium fuel. The four-wheel drive system is standard, and the model has a towing rating of 4,500 pounds (kg), approach and departure angles of 47.2 and 40.5 degrees, respectively, a 30.8-degree brakeover angle, a water fording rating of 37 inches (940 mm), and a 13.1-inch (333 mm) ground clearance.

Off-roading enthusiasts can further improve these numbers by selecting a few aftermarket upgrades for their Bronco Raptor. The offering is vast and includes new suspension, uprated brakes, and a plethora of wheel and tire options. Speaking of the latter, one particular build comes to mind, and it is that gray example we wrote about over the weekend. Don't know what we're talking about?
