The Nurburgring has now closed its gates for the 2018 season, but automakers have taken advantage of the Green Hell testing possibilities until the very last moment. And one of the companies that rely heavily on the Nordschleife to put its prototypes through their paces is Porsche.
With Zuffenhausen currently preparing to introduce its next-generation machines, the German engineers have recently taken to the Ring to put their upcoming go-fast machines to the test.

And, thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, we can show you the 992-generation Porsche 911, as well as the Taycan, doing their thing on the infamous German circuit.

In fact, the two even crossed paths at certain points, as, for instance, you can check out a chase at the 4:22 point of the clip. Speaking of which, the 4:45 clips allows you to listen to the soundtrack of the 2020 Porsche 911 DSG gearbox - the generation means we'll get an eight-speed setup.

As for more info on the next-gen Neunelfer, you can find this here. Note that the Neunelfer is expected to make its debut later this month, as the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The video also brings us other spicy moments, as it involves the upcoming Mercedes-AMG A45 (you'll find this at the 2:08 and 3:58 points), as well as the record-setting 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR.

When it comes to the Taycan, the production version of the Mission E has now entered its advanced testing stages. The prototype seen here is the standard version of the Porsche Taycan, if we might call the EV so, but a Sport Turismo version of the prototype has also been spied. Note that the German automotive producer has already confirmed that this shooting brake version will enter production alongside the hatchback version.

And you'll find more info on the first production Porsche electric car here. Expect the Taycan to make its debut late next year.
