The Nurburgring can be accurately described as a collection of traps waiting to tear apart the cars of those who are unaware of the Green Hell way. Fortunately, many of these aficionados get away with near crashes and we are now here to showcase an example of that.
To be more precise, we've brought along a piece of footage, namely a compilation which shows near crashes and fails that took place on the infamous German track.

And while we've already shown you a few of these mishaps, there are plenty of adventures you haven't check out, hence the presence of the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

We've decided to focus on a near accident that involved a Mazda Miata. The shenanigan took place in the Brunnchen 2 corner, which is one of YouTube's favorite twists.

And the driver of the FD-generation MX-5 (the current one) we have here made a Ring rookie mistake, going for a "racing" line that pushed the roadster wide, regardless of its rear-wheel-drive - note that the quotes are here since the adventure took place during a Nurburgring Touristenfahrten (Tourist Days) stunt, which means we can't talk about a race.

The said trajectory saw the Mazda Miata leaving the track, with the vehicle heading towards the metallic protection element on the left side.

Fortunately, the gravel trap placed on the Brunnchen 2 exit saved the day, with the little sportscar returning to the circuit in one piece.

The lesson we can learn from here is simple, at least in theory - you should match your pace to your Nordschleife layout knowledge, regardless of your hooning skills.

The said Miata incident awaits you at the 4:53 point of the clip below. However, the rest of the video is also worthy of your attention, thanks to the reasons we mentioned above.
