The rumor mill talks about Porsche introducing the 992 generation of the Porsche 911 at the end of the month, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. And while this isn't the first time when a 2018 auto show is expected to brings us the next-gen Neunelfer and yet it looks like the rumors might be true this time. For one thing, uncamouflaged prototypes of the newcomer being spotted in the wild are no surprise these days.
However, the example we're here to showcase is a bit different and that's because the thing is dressed in Miami Blue. Damn, it seems like just yesterday Porsche was parading a Miami Blue 991.2 around to bring the then-new turbocharged facelift under the spotlights.

The tester we have here has been spotted in Munich, Germany, with the thing being parked next to a MINI that doesn't look too shabby itself.

The Paint to Sample shade we have here is the kind that mist seems just too extrovert to some. And yet, at least in these pictures, the way in which the color covers the rear-engined coupe makes it obvious that Zuffenhausen designers once again got the job done perfectly.

In our book, the grown-up styling of the 992 works perfectly for this age, even though there some answered questions here - what is the non-color-coded area above the license plate? (we've also seen this on other test cars).

The images in the Instagram post at the bottom of the page don't allow us to peek inside the 2020 Porsche 911, but previous spyshots have. And we'll remind you that the greatest change comes from the partially digital dashboard, which mixes the traditional analog center tacho with a pair of screens, so it can maintain the usual five-instrument look.

While the Carrera (S) models will pack updated versions of the turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six units that power the current car, we can also confirm that the 2020 Porsche 911 GT3 will maintain its naturally aspirated flat-six and its manual gearbox.

As for the 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo (here's a prototype in production form), the supercar should retire its 3.8-liter boxer in favor of an all-new motor.

Of course, the most important powertrain change comes from the confirmed hybridization, even though we might have to wait for the .2 mid-cycle refresh to get the gas-electric version(s) of the new Porsche 911.
