A little over three years ago, Mercedes launched the C63 S, which was the most powerful car in its class and the only one with a V8 engine. Now there's a facelifted version, or rather several of them, spread across different body styles.
Unfortunately, after massive amounts of testing, the C63 S still has the same amount of power as it did before: 510 HP. Since AMG had to comply with the new emissions regulations and install a new filter, we naturally assumed that the sound produced by this flexible 4-liter would be affected.

However, this comparison video from German YouTuber Automann suggests this couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, the older model sounds like it has a runny nose by comparison. Obviously, the two cars aren't the same, the black 2019 model is a coupe and last year's silver car is a sedan.

But if there were a difference between how the sedan and coupe sound, the owner of the car would probably be aware of it. It should also be noted that both C63 S models have an optional AMG performance exhaust.

So what has changed? Well, the old 7-speed automatic has been replaced by a new 9-speed with a wet start-up clutch. It's also got a new torque vectoring system and several traction control modes. Also, all versions now get the e-diff which used to be reserved for the S model. There are also several exterior and interior styling tweaks, like that bold new grille or the rear diffuser.

Inside, you can finally get it with digital dials and better materials. We have to note that the C63 is the only car in this segment with four body styles: sedan, wagon, coupe, and cabrio. Audi doesn't have the RS cabrio; BMW lacks a wagon and Alfa... only has one car.

The ultimate version has to be the coupe because it has more rubber, wider tracks and a lower center of gravity.
