Alfa Romeo is prepping a mid-cycle facelift of its Giulietta compact hatchback.
The model is expected to be launched later this year and should be followed by a facelift of the Giulietta’s little brother, the MiTo. Until then, we have fresh spyshots of the upcoming Giulietta facelift thanks to our collaborative photographers.
As you can see from the photo gallery, the facelift doesn’t bring a dramatic change for the Giulietta. However, the prototype does feature a new front bumper, a modified front grille, modified headlights, a redesigned rear bumper and new rear lights. Other little characteristics of the Italian premium compact car seem to have been changed, but not to a great extent.
Most likely, the facelift will bring a fascia inspired by the one of the new Giulia, but with an obvious adaptation to the size and shape of the compact hatchback in the Italian company’s portfolio.
The prototype shown in the spy shots found in this article’s gallery doesn’t feature the new graphics of the headlights and tail lights, but the shape of these is slightly different from the one found on the ongoing Giulietta.
The car’s engine lineup is expected to be improved significantly with the facelift. The Italian brand will naturally employ Euro 6.2 engines in both MultiJet diesel and T-Jet gasoline turbocharged units. There’s no word on whether the QV version of the Giulietta will remain in production, but there’s also no indication of the Italian brand giving up on this performance option.
Unfortunately, our spy photographers couldn’t get any shots of the Giulietta’s facelifted interior. However, previous reports and the company’s habits make us expect new interior trim, an updated multimedia unit, and new colors and materials.
Most likely, FCA’s latest Uconnect infotainment system will be featured, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We must note, though, that there’s no official confirmation of this possibility.
