While we are waiting for the all-new Mazda MX-5 / Miata to arrive, the carmaker is inviting us to spend the time with the latest incarnation of the current generation, the 25th Anniversary model. Having introduced the 25 Anniversary in Miata in New York, Mazda now offers us the pricing for the vehicle.
First of all, you have to remember that Mazda will only offer 100 units of the thing in the US, so if you’re after one, you’d better hurry. If this is indeed the case, you can grab one via a dedicated website, which is scheduled to launch on May 20, 2014 at 7:25 AM Eastern Time. The pre-order program is set to be open until May 31st, or until Mazda reaches 250 customers. Nonetheless, owners will received their cars in the second half of the current year.

The Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary can be your from $33,000 including the $795 destination fee. We’ll remind you that, aside from the bespoke exterior and interior colors, the special edition holds an unusual technical promise.

Mazda explains they hand-picked various engine parts out of the production lot for the 25th Anniversary vehicle. We are talking about the flywheel, pistons and connecting rods. While the performance itself isn’t boosted, Mazda brags this means the powerplant “revs even more freely, delivering an extraordinary response, precision acceleration and a deeply satisfying engine note.“

Oh and by the way, for the money you also receive a special Tourneau timepiece.

In addition, Mazda also announced the pricing for the standard MX-5. with this starting at $24,765, including a $795 destination charge.
