The 2015 Acura TLX was first seen in “concept” form at the Detroit Auto Show and in production form a few months ago at the New York Auto Show, and soon customers will be able to see Acura’s all-new mid-size sedan in dealership showrooms. Acura announced that its newest model began rolling off the Marysville, OH assembly plant today, and they should be in dealers by next month.
In addition to its actual production, the 2015 Acura TLX was designed and developed in the U.S. (in California and Ohio), and both of the car’s available engines are produced nearby at Honda’s Anna, OH engine plant. In fact, with the launch of the new TLX, the only current Acura product not produced in the U.S. is the low-volume Japanese-made RLX sedan. Acura points out that now more than 90 percent of its current vehicles that are sold in the U.S. are built here as well.
The compact RDX crossover is built nearby in East Liberty, OH, the compact ILX sedan is built a couple states over in Greensburg, IN and the best-selling three-row luxury SUV ever, the Acura MDX, is produced in Lincoln, AL. And when it finally goes on sale, even the exciting new Acura NSX will be made in the U.S. not too far from the RLX assembly line.
Preparing for the cars to hit dealerships in August, Acura announced pricing for the 2015 TLX earlier this month. Designed to replace both the TL and the TSX, the has a starting price that ranges from $30,995 for the base TLX 2.4L up to $41,450 for the TLX 3.5L with Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). Just last week, Acura kicked off some great incentives for early TSX buyers and lessees including a $500 accessory allowance for buyers and a unique, open-ended lease for Acura lessees with leases that will expire before the TLX hits showrooms. All of the incentives last until September 2, 2014.
