The first official photos of the new Mazda3 sedan have emerged and are now doing the rounds on the internet without a word being said by the Japanese carmaker.
Just like we predicted, the boot of the new compact sedan looks very similar to that on the bigger Mazda6 we just tested. Other than that, it's just like the hatchback, which is no bad thing.
Just like its 5-door incarnation, this 3 sedan will be bigger than most of its compact class rivals, which is no bad thing.
As far as the yet unrevealed engine range of the sedan, the car will be sold in some markets with with a Skyactiv-G 1.5-liter petrol engine rated at 100 hp, while the 2.0-liter unit will deliver 120 hp and 165 hp respectively. The European Mazda3 sedan will a diesel as well, a the 2.2-liter powerplant producing 150 hp. US buyers will also be offered a 2.5-liter four-banger.
