The menacing 2014 Corvette C7.R was built to eat Vipers, BMWs and Porsches alive on the race track. That's its sole purpose on its way to its eleventh manufacturers' championship.
Co-developed with the 2015 Corvette Z06 road car, the C7.R features an aluminum frame and it's three percent stiffer than the C6.R, which means it handles better and it's more suitable for 12 and 24 hour endurance races compared with its predecessor.
The new race car was also enhanced for reduced lift and better downforce, while aerodynamics have been improved by adding track-suited a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a huge rear wing. The C7.R looks ready to tackle the 2014 USCC championship, and that's exactly what Jim Campbell, vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports is explaining in the video below.
