If you were to take a look at Chrysler’s current lineup and sales figures, you’d quickly understand why the Pentastar brand is far from being the glorious Detroit competitor it used to be. Well, that could change towards the end of the year when the brand new Chrysler 200 hits the showrooms.
The new sedan is totally different from the Sebring-based abomination that’s on sale right now. The vehicle was overhauled from the ground up for an entirely new design, an attractive, stylish interior and innovative engineering. That might just push it ahead of its competitors. Sure, Chrysler needs to back everything they promised with the 2015 200 when it goes on sale, but we must admit the sedan looks pretty good on paper.
As we’ve previously reported, Chrysler will offer two engine choices with the 200, a 2.4-liter Tigershark (184 HP / 173 lb-ft) and a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (295 HP / 262 lb-ft). Both engines will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, the first ever such gearbox to be offered as standard, while all-wheel drive will have its own check box on the options list.
