Need to spruce up your life with a classic luxury car that bears Lincoln's signature all over it? How about a 1967 Continental Convertible?
This timeless example is part of the fourth generation that used to be made at Wixom in Michigan between 1961 and 1969. The series comprised three body styles: a four-door sedan, a four-door convertible, and a two-door hardtop. All came with rear-wheel drive based on a unibody chassis and were related to the fifth-gen Ford Thunderbird.

At nearly 221 inches (5,611 mm) in length, the fourth-gen Lincoln Continental was a true American land yacht. To better understand this size, we will remind you that the W223 Mercedes S-Class, aka the latest one, measures up to 216.5 inches (5,500 mm) from bumper to bumper in its largest size available. This model is almost as long as a new Cadillac Escalade ESV (227 in/5,766 mm).

It is also a heavy boy, as depending on the configuration, it tips the scales at 5,000-5,700 pounds (~2,300-2,600 kg). This iteration of the Continental came with three engine options. All of them were V8s, with the largest one having a displacement of 462 cubic inches. The 7.6L unit is the one powering the pictured car, hooked up to an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

A recent service job has granted it a new carburetor, water pump, battery, exhaust system, brakes, and springs. The gearbox is said to have been recently serviced, too, and the car, which has had three owners in the papers since it left the factory floor over 56 years ago, rides on 20-inch Mobsteel wheels. It features a black paint finish with the era's chrome trim providing contrast, and the rag top is said to be functional.

The black leather interior has been there since 1967, hence why it does not look that good. The factory air conditioning system needs servicing, and while you're at it, you may want to add additional components to the list. In fact, this Lincoln Continental Convertible, with its four-door body style and rear coach doors (suicide), needs a lot more tender loving care, as a proper restoration would truly bring it back to its original shine.

Nevertheless, it is not the kind of work any petrolhead would dare take on, as it would eat a small fortune. On top of that, it's not exactly affordable either, as it costs about as much as a brand-new BMW 5 Series. The asking price on Garage Kept Motors is $62,900, and the car has just a little over 51,000 miles (~82,000 km) on the odometer, said to be real. So, is this the kind of project that gets your heart racing, or would you keep searching for a different ride that would be friendlier to your finances?
