In the world of custom builds, the Chevrolet C10 is one of the favorite platforms. The pickup has been at the center of so many creations over the years that some might find it difficult to pick a favorite from the crowd.
Most of these builds are not recent, as they have been completed some time ago, and their glory days are officially behind us. They keep selling at auctions across the U.S., though, and that’s the perfect opportunity for us to tell you a bit more about these titans of the industry.

In the recent past we’ve seen C10s in tons of colors, including eye-popping green, riding low or high, with a modern twist or a more conventional appearance. This week, we’re talking about one that blends both approaches.

The C10 you see in the gallery above is part of the Eddie Vannoy collection that is going under the hammer later in June as part of the Mecum auction. It is a C10 of the Fleetside variety modified in such a way that it won a number of distinctions during its life.

Riding low on a custom chassis with a Currie 9-inch rear end, the body of the C10 retains a simplistic approach given by the discrete custom elements fitted on it, all painted in the silver that suits such builds so well. Under the hood sits a Chevrolet LS3 engine linked to an automatic transmission and tuned into delivering 525 horsepower.

The real magic in the case of this C10 happens at the interior. There, the coldness of the silver exterior is instantly countered by warm, brown leather, fitted on almost every single element in there, from the center console and steering wheel to the doors and the power-adjustable bucket seats that come right off a BMW M5 but have been heavily modified.

The C10 is one of the stars of the said auction, but no estimate as to how much it is expected to fetch has been made.
