Seeing a 1960s Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray is a joy. Watching it crash into someone’s porch is a pain. If the car that crashes is yours, that’s pure tragedy. But worst case scenarios do happen. A driver who wanted to show off learned it the hard way.
Go to a classic car show, brag about how much money and time you invested in your classic 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, and then drive it home along a country road. What could go wrong? Nothing, right? Unless you try to do a burnout even though you don’t know how to do a burnout.

And then, instead of making a nice exist, you become viral. Not everything went according to plan for the driver of this C2 Chevy Corvette Sting Ray convertible. You thought going all tail happy on public roads was a Mustang thing, didn’t you? Well, not entirely a Mustang thing. Just remember this Ferrari F8 Tributo getting totaled at a car meet near Houston, Texas.

Just as he was leaving the classic car show that took place in Greensboro, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, the driver hammered the accelerator a bit too much, tried to do a burnout at the last minute, but lost control of his car, probably panicked, and was unable to do the right thing to keep it on the road. Braking did not help much either. The cherry-red Corvette smashed into the porch and side of a house unluckily built on the right side of the road.

There are no images of the aftermath, but probably only the driver’s ego had to suffer, while the left side of the car needs massive repair. And he will probably have to pay for the damages to the house as well. Well, it could have been a lot worse.

There is no official information about what happened. But luckily for the driver, the impact took place at quite a low speed. Luckily for the spectators, too, nobody was watching from the area where the 'Vette crashed. But they screamed in horror as they watched it getting banged up.

Unedited footage of the crash (and of cars leaving the classic car show, because that was what everyone was filming), was uploaded on the Nacho Nova YouTube channel.

How much would a C2 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray be right now?

In production between August 1962 and July 1967, the C2 Chevy Corvette Sting Ray is a very sought after classic automobile.

So what happened in Pennsylvania is surely going to be one expensive driver error. A C2 Chevrolet Corvette, now around six decades old, would have an average price of over $100,000, depending on mileage, specification, and condition, with some even hitting the $200,000 mark.
