Usually, Hennessey Performance Engineering conducts their own races – both drags and rolls – with their tuned products, but now they're allowing 'carwow' a taste of the goodies.
So, just for the sake of a good'ol American showdown done with British folk behind the wheel, Mat Watson and 'Racing Driver' Sam from carwow have flown over to the United States to get their hands on a pair of Mopar powerhouses from Hennessey: a Mammoth truck based on the Ram 1500 TRX and an H1000 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak.

Interestingly, Mat and Sam are not whispering a word about these two being almost extinct – the Dodge Charger in sedan form ended production in December 2023, and the 2024 model year for the Ram 1500 TRX is the final one using the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 because the refreshed 2025MY comes with V6, Hurricane inline-six, Ramcharger range extender, and 1550 REV zero emissions power under the hood.

That being said, they probably didn't care about what would happen with the Ram TRX and Dodge Charger because they were too preoccupied with enjoying these Hennessey-prepared monsters. So, on the right side, there's Mat's Mammoth based on the TRX, complete with 1,012 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a humongous weight. To its left sits Sam's Charger Jailbreak H1000 with exactly 1,000 horsepower, RWD, and – believe it or not – more than two-thirds of Mammot's mass!

That certainly left both Mat and Sam awestruck, so they weren't exactly sure how the drag races would go down. No worries, the results were crystal clear – no matter how Sam thought he could launch the Charger, Mat's Mammoth launched like a rocket ship, bulked, and then slapped silly the Dodge rival with an impressive victory after another. By the way, Sam tried around four or five times to catch up to the Mammoth TRX, and all he could do best was about two lengths of the truck in front of it!

That is appropriately impressive, of course. Naturally, when they took the AWD out of the equation during a standard roll race, the Charger finally managed to lay down its massive power on the tarmac and also wiped the floor off with the Mopar sibling. Last but not least, Mat thought about meeting in the middle – so he asked Sam to come rolling while he started from a dig. To make it fair, though, the Charger was supposed to come drifting! Well, that again didn't go well for the feisty Dodge!

The only other time when the Charger won, of course, was during the traditional brake test performed from 70 mph – but curiously enough, the Mammoth wasn't too far in front of it, which is a statement of Hennessey's prowess when it comes to making sure its tuned vehicle are great all-rounders in every possible scenario.
