The Aprilia Tuono 1000 was a naked motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia in 2002, based on the Aprilia RSV Mille. In addition, it shared the same engine, transmission, frame, and some of the suspension components with the RSV 1000 R superbike.

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia Tuono 1000 R Factory, a race-derived naked bike in its third year of production. The bike packed the same technical, visual, and performance specifications as the previous model without modifications.

Aesthetically, the motorcycle was fitted with standard features, such as a front cowl with a dual headlight system, side panels, an engine cover, a single seat with a passenger cover, a dual exhaust system with a silencer on each side, and gold-finished 12-spoke wheels and frame.

In addition, the use of lightweight materials, such as forged aluminum and carbon fiber, explained the four kg (9 lbs) weight difference between the Tuono 1000 R and Tuono R Factory models.

The 2008 Aprilia Tuono 1000 R Factory took its muscles from a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 139 hp at 9,500 rpm and 107 Nm (74 lb-ft) torque at 8,500 rpm.

Braking-wise, the motorcycle packed two 320 mm stainless steel floating discs coupled to four-piston Brembo Gold calipers and a 220 mm stainless steel disc tied to a dual-piston Brembo Gold caliper.
