APRILIA Tuono 1000 R (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Tuono 1000 R was the second generation of the base Tuono model. It debuted in 2006 and was based on the 2004-2009 Aprilia RSV 1000 R. Both models were similar, with slight visual and technical differences.

One difference was the rear shock absorber that made the Tuono 1000 R model somewhat less usable on the track. In addition, the bike's parts were interchangeable, so the rear shock could be used on the Tuono 1000 R model to be used on the track.

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Tuono 1000 R, a naked motorcycle in its third year of production. The bike came with the same package as previous models, featuring the same technical, visual, and performance specifications without significant modifications.

The bike had standard features, such as a front cowl with a dual headlight system, a small wind deflector, a single seat with a pillion seat cover, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, and 10-spoke rear and 12-spoke front wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2008 Aprilia Tuono 1000 R had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine that delivered an output power of 139 hp at 9,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) torque at 8,500 rpm.

A six-speed manual transmission handled the engine's power, sending it to the rear wheel via a final chain drive, launching the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 252 kph (157 mph).
