In 2012, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE, a special edition motorcycle in its second year of production. It featured the same package as the previous model with several improvements and modifications.

The bike's Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) electronic management pack includes Aprilia Traction Control (ATC), which can self-adjust to different types of tires and has eight settings selectable from a handlebar-mounted joystick.

It also features Aprilia Wheelie Control (AWC) with three settings, Aprilia Launch Control (ALC) with three settings made only for the track, and Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) for fast gear changes without using the clutch or closing the throttle.

Other modifications included a dual display mode for Road and Race modes, a new lighter exhaust system that improved performance, optimized gear ratios, improved engine lubrication, and lighter double-spoke wheels.

At its core, the 2012 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE had installed a 999cc four-stroke V-4 liquid-cooled engine with a fuel injection system feeding the piston, delivering an output power of 180 hp at 12,500 rpm and 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) torque at 10,000.

The bike's engine was married to a six-speed manual transmission that sent the power to the rear end via a final chain drive, launching the motorcycle to a top speed of 291 kph (181 mph).
