The ES model is the most successful Lexus sedan, thanks to its luxury and equipment offered at a lower price than the competitors.
iAfrica tested the 2014 ES 250 model and it’s telling us how does the ES nameplate managed to get so well known.

First of all, it shares its platform with the Toyota Avalon so it’s one of the most spacious sedans around, with enough rear legroom to satisfy even over six-foot tall persons, while the trunk can hold 490 liters and a full-size spare tire.

Next, is the fact that the sedan is focused on the comfort instead of performance. Under its hood, the ES 250 houses a 2.5-liter dual VVT-i engine making 136 kW and 235 Nm, all being sent to the front wheels. This means a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of almost ten seconds. Not too impressive, but this means the vehicle is lighter and the rear passenger floor is almost flat... See? Comfort and fuel efficiency.

The interior can be had in black or ivory and pretty much follows the sophistication of its bigger GS and LS brothers, with a split-level fascia, big central screen with remote touch interface, analogue clock and more.
