Would You Rather Have a Widebody C8 Corvette on Forgiatos OR a Vintage-Style STO on AL13s?

That is an excellent question that the performance wheel specialists at Los Angeles, California-based Forgiato Designs, and Anaheim, Cali-based AL13 Wheels Design + Technik did not even know they had to answer. But we are posting it, anyway, because we really wanted to see the difference between something outrageous and an extremely well-done customization job.
Since 2019, the eighth installment in 'America's sports car' saga, aka the C8 Chevrolet Corvette, has finally entered the big leagues of the mid-engine high-performance cars. And they are already doing battles with the grands of the era from Europe, especially Ferrari, but there is still a long way to go before they have learned all their due lessons.

Such as the fact that it's not enough to flaunt an edgy design and great mid-engine RWD proportions to get away with everything and anything, especially when dealing with the imaginative yet (sometimes) slightly immature aftermarket realm. And there is no need to take our word for granted, as we have a couple of eloquent examples – one good and one bad, of course.

So, let's start with the outrageous one, all thanks to the Los Angeles, California-based forged wheel experts at Forgiato, who attracted our attention on their social media reel to a crimson C8 Corvette that was initially black and a lot tamer. After some 'careful' consideration, though, the owner decided to make it able to stand out in any crowd and asked the guys at Forgiato, and someone nicknamed the 'Wide Body King,' to change its appearance.

The result will not be everyone's cup of tea, for sure. However, the widebody treatment and aero work are not that bad – especially the humongous, black trunk lid spoiler and the seamlessly integrated fender flares. But the ECL wheels are a bit too much, in the end, if our two cents are needed on the matter. Meanwhile, if you want to see something extreme but still properly done, head over to Al13's reel for a taste of the 'hardest' Lamborghini Huracan STO they have ever laid eyes on.

It's a matte black (slightly widebody) menace, and it rides in a vintage-like contrasting manner on center-lock R110.6 wheels finished in full gloss polished Cali Gold! Now, as far as appreciations go, we are not going to hold a grudge against anyone who would rather tuck the C8 inside their garage rather than the spectacular Huracan STO – or maybe even both, as beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

But in terms of performance, sorry America, our heart goes to Italy to sing along to the V10 tune of 631 horsepower in just three seconds to 62 mph (100 kph) and then onto 202 mph (305 kph). Meanwhile, the C8 Stingray can only do with 495 horsepower from its 6.2-liter V8, and although it's just as fast on the sprint, it will probably never sound as wild as the odd-firing 5.2-liter V10 mill!
