Tesla took its Cybertruck to Europe for the third time. And maybe, third time's a charm. The firm planted it in a shopping mall in Berlin and people stopped everything they were doing and snapped pictures of the American-made contraption. The model will not go on sale in Europe, so what is it doing there?
The Tesla Cybertruck started on its European tour and the first stop is Germany. The Tesla Europe & Middle East X profile shared photos of the pickup truck at the shopping mall. The photos show people around the vehicle, staring at it and taking photos. So far, they have only seen the Cybertruck on the Internet.

Tesla can't market the vehicle on the Old Continent because it does not comply the European standards in force. The stainless steel body is considered too thin to properly withstand and absorb impact properly.

Furthermore, its weight exceeds 3.5 tons, which would require a different permit than the B category used for passenger cars.

To drive the Cybertruck in Europe, drivers will have to have a C1 driving license. Tesla is not considering rolling out a European version of the Cybertruck because this body segment is not exactly popular there.

This is the second time that the model has arrived in Germany. The first time was at the Giga Berlin in Grunheide in March, soon after the rumor about the vehicle becoming eligible for the European market started making the rounds. We all know that there is no smoke without fire. However, there has never been any confirmation regarding it.

The Cybertruck was also in display in Olso, Norway. Germany is, indeed, Europe's largest EV market, while the Scandinavian state has the highest EV market share. In 2023, around 82 percent of the new cars sold in Norway were electric, as reported by the Norwegian Road Federation.

Last week, Tesla announced that the journey of the Cybertruck across Europe is called the “Cyber Odyssey.” The list of cities that the tour includes also mentions the Tesla Park Royal in London, the United Kingdom, and so are Vienna, Munich, Rome, Paris, and Barcelona.

The Cybertruck also made it to China in late January. But that is also a market where the Cybertruk won’t be marketed due to the regulation in force that it does not comply with. It will also go on displays in Australia and New Zealand.

Tesla has already sent the electric pickup truck on a tour across the United States. We have recently reported about it trailering a Tesla Model Y through New York. The Model Y was in a glass case whose walls read “The most popular car in the world is made in America.”

While approximately 10 percent of Tesla's workforce is bracing for termination, the automaker is planning to ramp up the production of the Cybertruck at the Giga Texas, the only production facility that builds it right now.
