Ford has just begun deliveries of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck in Europe. The first unit went to Norway, Europe's greatest EV market. In 2023, zero-emission models had an impressive market share of over 82 percent.
The first Ford F-150 Lightning was delivered to a couple residing in Norway. The brand's CEO, Jim Farley, re-tweeted a post on former Twitter/current X, showing photos of the new owners next to their brand-new pickup truck.

They are Dag and Angela, an American couple who moved from Texas to Norway and are now trying to bring US vibes to the Northern European roads. The truck that they received is the first to set wheels on the Old Content.

Farley says it is exciting to see that Ford customers have just begun to receive their electric pickup trucks. "Congrats to Dag and Angela. Hope your new F-150 Lightning serves you well."

According to the original post, uploaded to X by Per Gunnar Berg, managing director of Ford Norway, Dag and Angela run a barbeque business and call themselves "Family Tall." So it is obvious that the vehicle is going to help them with the business and transport the two tall adults and their teenage sons, who are 2 meters (6'6) tall in comfort as well.

They also have a message for a relative who resides in the US: "Uncle Brian in Texas - time to replace your F-150 petrol!" If Uncle Brian decides to make the move, he must know that Ford cut down on waiting times from two years when the model was launched to only three months from the moment of the order to the moment of the handover.

The F-150 Lightnings selling in Norway are Lariat Launch Edition versions, offered exclusively with the Super Crew Cab body style in Antimatter Blue metallic body color.

The vehicle is powered by two electric motors in an all-wheel drive system, generating a total of 458 metric horsepower and 1,050 Newton meters of torque, making it accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (0 to 62 mph) in under 5 seconds.

Drivers can select one of the four driving modes available on board: Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Tow/Haul. Speaking of the latter, the Ford F-150 Lightning comes with a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kilograms. A lithium battery pack with a capacity of 98 kWh stores enough energy for a drive of up to 386 kilometers.

The model is sold through the Ford-authorized dealer network, which includes more than 70 locations across Norway.

The Northern European state is the best market for another electric model wearing the Blue Oval badge. It is the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which was selected by 3,792 customers last year.

Back in January, Ford announced they would be adjusting the production of the F-150 Lightning to match the demand. The model remains the best-selling electric pickup truck in the US, marching ahead the Chevrolet Silverado, scoring a 55 percent increase in 2023 compared to 2022.

However, the demand is not growing at a fast pace in 2024, as originally estimated. So, the Blue Oval needs to slow down on production.
