The world of all-electric pickup trucks is not that big. But we do have choices. Ford, Rivian, Tesla, GMC, and Chevrolet will sell you one. But besides being zero-emission and having hundreds of horsepower on tap, these vehicles can be more than just swanky workhorses. Here's an F-150 Lightning owner proving you can ditch fossil fuels and elevate your car ownership experience.
Newer pickup trucks are still utility vehicles, but most are used as passenger cars nowadays. Instead of doing what they were meant to, owners rarely even leave the pavement. That's understandable, though! Automakers noticed buyers might be willing to spend more on nicer pickup trucks, which they delivered. Some models, like the Ram 1500 Limited or the GMC Sierra Denali, are expensive for very good reasons. They're just better in many ways, including offering an unexpectedly great cabin experience!

But the next step up for pickup trucks is total electrification. That can improve their off-roading capabilities (there's no differential bulge!) and turn them into an integral part of your daily life. They can power your accessories or tools, lower your monthly "fueling" costs because charging at home will be cheaper than getting gas, and become a zero-emission generator when the situation calls for it. Bidirectional charging is a fantastic feature.

Another big plus is the increased cargo room. Good battery-electric pickup trucks have a generous front trunk thanks to the absence of an internal combustion engine. The drive units are put on axles and are small enough not to impact the vehicle's ground clearance or occupy the space under the hood.

An F-150 owner figured out that the frunk can be more than just a place where you put the charging cables or a mini-fridge. He installed a TV and turned tailgating into frunkgating! The latter is not a proper word yet, but it might become a term we'll all use soon.

This guy installed a 40-inch TV in the frunk. Fret not; if size matters, he says the available space can fit screen sets measuring up to 43 inches. He used a full-motion wall mount installed sideways and self-tapping screws to ensure mobility. The Ford owner added a set of straps that hold the TV close to the hood insulation while on the road.

That's just one of the many perks of switching to an all-electric vehicle. The man says that he also uses the TV when he needs to fast-charge or when he meets with friends to watch a game or a movie. The costliest thing here? The TV!

But probably the best thing about this guy's F-150 Lightning is that it can comfortably hide a TV under its hood while also having some beverages on ice. The frunk can act as an ice chest with no drawbacks whatsoever! Exciting times lie ahead for those of us who love socializing and have good ol' fun.

Car shows on TV and his father's Fiat Tempra may have been Florin's early influences, but nowadays he favors different things, like the power of an F-150 Raptor. He'll never be able to ignore the shape of a Ferrari though, especially a yellow one.
