Hundreds of 2023 Corvette Z06 cars sit in a parking lot outside the assembly plant, waiting for parts. Customers will have to wait longer for their vehicles to be delivered. Chevrolet is facing a supply chain bottleneck and is missing important components. They can deliver the cars without those, but will have to provide partial window credit on the window sticker.
Many of those who have ordered a 2023 Corvette Z06 have been announced that their cars are going to be late unless they want them delivered with missing parts. Chevrolet is dealing with parts shortages, so they can’t possibly communicate a delivery date to customers, even though the cars are almost completed.

That is code 3800, which indicates, according to Corvetteblogger.com, that the cars are already built but are waiting for shipment. However, the delivery dates set by Chevrolet had to be put on hold because of the missing components. That is why hundreds of 2023 Z06s sit in the parking lot at the Bowling Green assembly plant in Kentucky, waiting for parts. Chevrolet will retrofit the vehicles when the parts become available and will ship them to customers.

Aerial footage that was posted online back in August showed a huge number of Chevy Corvettes parked right outside the production center. What the carmaker still needs to add on these cars are carbon fiber parts, which round up the aero and design packages. The UAW strike only makes it worse and might extend the waiting time.

Customers who have been trying to get updates on the cars they ordered do not get much information. The demand for carbon fiber parts inside and outside the car has been outnumbering the number of parts available. Some cars have reportedly been delivered without the carbon fiber bits in an attempt to alleviate the customers’ dissatisfaction, providing partial credit on the window sticker as compensation for the missing carbon fiber components.

Chevrolet initially closed order books after the limited-run 2023 Corvette Z06 was sold out, exactly one year ago. Books were, though, reopened in November. To prevent car flipping, a practice that has been skyrocketing for the past few years, Chevrolet offered owners a $5,000 credit in reward points to convince them not to sell their cars.

The Z06 is powered by the naturally aspirated LT6 5.5-liter V8 engine, which is able to generate 670 horsepower (679 metric horsepower) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque, steered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine has to pull 3,657 pounds (1,659 kilograms). So that pretty much explains why the supercar flashes from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 kph) in 2.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph (315 kph).
