During the first days of 2023, Porsche kicked off its 75th-anniversary celebrations with the Vision 357 Concept – an homage to the times long gone and a birthday gift based on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS.
Porsche as a company was founded in 1931, but it wasn't until 1948 that Ferry Porsche and his team produced the Porsche 356 'No. 1' Roadster. Naturally, 2023 is a year of celebration as the brand marks three-quarters of a century from that moment. And the Vision 357 prototype was an excellent kick-off for the party.

Just recently, Porsche closed another chapter of the celebration after four days of unrelenting festival at Laguna Seca in California – and Rennsport Reunion 7 had everything, from iconic Porsche vehicles and drivers to racing on track "and even a tractor driven by an NBA legend." That was hall-of-famer Dwyane Wade, by the way – which is a pretty unforgettable moment, right?

Of course, the company also marked the occasion with a couple of introductions – the new Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport, a collectible race car produced in just 77 units, or the pair of hardcore Porsche x Tag Heuer 718 Cayman GT4 RS units that were created as Carrera Panamericana-celebrating one-offs. So, isn't this the best time for everyone to join in on the celebrations – both in the real world as well as across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators?

Of course, it is, especially if the parallel universes yield interesting results like the ones provided by the virtual artist tucked behind the Hakosan Designs digital label on social media, who takes a CGI swing at Porsche's initial anniversary self-gift to make it trendier. So, here's the pixel master refocusing our attention on Vision 357 and its goodies.

Concerning all the motorsport-focused craziness that happened at Rennsport Reunion 7, the CGI expert recently imagined a what-if situation and decided to see the track-ready Vision 357 R model take flight into our imagination. According to the author, this version – if real – would use a 4.2-liter boxer mill with 650 horsepower instead of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS' stock 4.0-liter with 493 hp. Additionally, it would also only weigh about 1,100 kg – which is just 2,425 pounds, and has "much more aggressive aerodynamics adapted for the track."

Cool, right? But wait, as there is more. Sifting through the virtual artist's previous work, we quickly found this wasn't the only attempt at proposing a real-world version of the Vision 357 concept. Instead, a few months ago, the pixel master also imagined the prototype with regular street-legal clothes. Even better, the CGI expert also proposes a large color pool to choose from, including some shades that can never be unseen!
