As ordained by its parent company, Stellantis, the iconic Dodge brand is at a crossroads. On one side, we have the legacy of the Hemi V8, and on the other, there's the novel EV lifestyle. What will the automaker do?
Well, as far as we know, the days of the Hemi V8 are numbered – it will bow out alongside the 2023 Charger sedan and Challenger muscle car in seven 'Last Call' special editions topped by the mind-blowing 1,025-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. After that, the Charger and now the Challenger will get a new lease of two-door life, Banshee EV powertrains, and possibly some Hurricane SSTs (straight-six turbo) under the hood.

The little Dodge Hornet is already electrified and features the company's first-ever plug-in hybrid series production powertrain – courtesy of its sibling Tonale from Alfa Romeo. Meanwhile, the Dodge Durango still has the option to give you 710 hp from the 6.2-liter supercharged V8. But for how long?

In this context, it is no wonder that everyone is trying to find creative solutions. Even the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is chipping in with their two cents on the matter. For example, Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, knowing that Dodge's Charger is going back to the two-door lifestyle, has now taken up the task of revealing a reborn Stratus as its replacement for the mid-size four-door sedan sector.

The original Stratus was a mid-size car series that premiered back in late 1994, almost three decades ago, and was built on Chrysler's JA platform alongside the Chrysler Cirrus, Sebring, and Plymouth Breeze. Typical of the bubbly 1990s fashion, the Stratus only lasted a couple of generations, during which time it was sold as a four-door sedan and, during its second run, also as a two-door coupe.

Now, with the sedan place soon vacated by the morphing Dodge Charger, this pixel master sought to reinstate the Stratus as Dodge's go-to mid-size sedan. But what if Stellantis only allows electrified models to compete for glory? No worries, the CGI expert has a solution for that – he simply took the all-new 2025 Toyota Camry hybrid mid-size sedan as the template and infused it with lots of Dodge cues.

The result is pretty astonishing, as you can still see the Camry DNA perspiring through the Dodge signature styling, but the result is not bad at all in the end. It would be interesting to see if Dodge could sell a revived Stratus based on the same underpinnings and with the same hybrid powertrain as the newly introduced 2025 Toyota Camry – but don't bet on it happening anytime soon. After all, Dodge has willingly abandoned the four-door mid-size sedan sector and will probably not change its mind anytime soon.
