The American automaker Jeep is well known for its sturdy 4x4 designs that hark back to WWII's little all-purpose and all-terrain vehicle that helped the Allies change the tide of many battles. However, now it wants to forge a legacy for the future, too.
It's great to look back in time when you have such a rich history like Jeep. But it's also equally important to keep an eye on what comes next to ensure your continued survival. As such, it is no wonder that Stellantis has allowed its prized all-terrain-focused subsidiary to expand so greatly.

In places like Europe, you can have a Jeep as little as the new Avenger, a subcompact crossover SUV related to the Fiat 600e, Peugeot 2008, Opel Mokka, or the DS 3 Crossback. At home in America, the range starts a little higher with the Renegade and Compass but also towers across the frontier of behemoths thanks to the Grand Wagoneer, for example. Plus, you can also find just about anything in between, from icons like the Wrangler and legends like the Grand Cherokee to an entire roster of sustainable offerings.

Indeed, Jeep has developed not just V8-powered Wranglers and three-row long-wheelbase full-size SUVs but also an entire family of 4xe models. These are all electrified, from the full-EV Avenger to the E-Hybrid or PHEV Compass and Renegade, plus the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids. However, only the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe are global models – the Avenger isn't sold in America, and the plug-in hybrid Compass and Renegade aren't available, either.

No worries, though, as the rumor mill strongly believes a third 4xe option will be available both in North America and worldwide – the upcoming 2025 Jeep Gladiator plug-in hybrid. Coming swiftly after the recent upgrades bestowed upon the 2024 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, this 4xe pickup truck could do wonders to establish Jeep as a domineering force across the mid-size pickup truck realm.

Remember, the competition is stiffer than ever, as the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is coming in early 2024, complete with the 326-hp i-Force Max electrified powertrain, and the latest Ford Ranger now also has a Ranger Raptor option to present to the world. Naturally, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators quickly took notice of the Gladiator 4xe rumors.

Well, it wasn't hard for them to imagine the plug-in hybrid version. For example, the Halo oto channel on YouTube provides fresh automotive info corroborated with their virtual designs; now, there are some CGI ideas about the Gladiator 4xe based on the Mojave variant. The changes compared to the gas-powered Gladiators are extremely subtle, unlike those featured under the hood.

Over there, most likely, the 2025 Gladiator 4xe will gladly adopt Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe's powertrain – a 375-hp combination of gas and electric mills powered by an additional 17-kWh battery pack. The Gladiator surely needs this to happen – in Europe, it's already the last Jeep model available solely with ICE power under the hood!
