German automaker Volkswagen has announced that two new special editions of its Up! city car, Groove Up! and Rock Up!, will be released in the United Kingdom.
The company claims that both vehicles are based on the top-specification High Up! and each of them will come with a “unique twist” for “fans of loud music, great-looking small cars and questionable puns”.

The Groove Up! version, which will be available as either a three-door or five-door model, features a Fender sound system with six speaker, subwoofer and a 300-Watt amplifier. Also, the interior will gain heated front seats, leather trimmed steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake with orange stitching, while exterior updates will include 16-inch “Upsilon” alloy wheels and black gloss door mirror caps.

On the other hand, the Rock Up! will be offered only as a three-door model and without the Fender sound system. But that won’t make this version less attractive, as it will arrive with a distinctive styling thanks to an anthracite stripe running the length of the bonnet, roof and tailgate and a full body kit, consisting of gloss black front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. In the cabin, the Rock Up! features a choice of black or grey seats and several other high-quality standard equipments.

Both vehicles are powered by the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that’s good for 75 HP when mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Groove up! three-door costs £11,640, and the five-door £12,015, while the Rock up! fetches £12,980. The models are available to order as we speak, with deliveries scheduled to start in July.
