If you were ever concerned about British build quality, now there's a German-build Range Rover Evouque that you should consider. And by "now", we actually mean a few years from now.

We first heard about the Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe yesterday, when some initial sketches were leaked online. But now, we have the real press photos of the Sports Activity Coupe that will debut very soon at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Shanghai will see a frenzy of new crossovers, as the BMW X4, Mercedes GLA and Citroen DS Wild Rubis are all making their debut there tomorrow.

The CrossBlue COupe will probably enter production soon, as VW doesn't mess around with "what if?" concept cars. It would most likely be built on the MQB platform and sit between the Tiguan and Touareg.

This interesting concept is also packed with technology, being driven by a V6 TSI engine that in combination with two electric motors can return 3.0 litres of fuel per 100 km, and travel up to 33 km on electricity alone.

The exterior shows a far more angular design language than we've come to expect from VW. The headlights have just two large LED projectors.

The interior photos are very significant in our opinion because they could preview the next Touareg interior. A new gear selector has been created for the automatic transmission and the infortainmet system is far larger. The CrossBlue Coupe concept seems to indicate that VW is thinking about an all-digital instrument cluster, something that doesn't sound all that far-fetched at the moment.
