Stellantis is no stranger to shrinking certain nameplates to fit their current needs – just look at the recent Opel Frontera going subcompact and fitting with the crossover lifestyle to succeed the outgoing Crossland.
They also created an entire culture of economies of scale – their many brands and models all share various iterations of the group's platforms to form clusters. For example, the latest ones are underpinned by the e-CMP variant with models like the Citroen e-C4 and e-C4 X, DS 3 Crossback E-Tense, Opel Corsa and Mokka Electric, Peugeot e-208 and e-2008, Fiat's 600e and the Abarth 600e, Jeep Avenger EV, Lancia Ypsilon, or the fresh Alfa Romeo Junior (formerly announced as Milano).

In fact, there's an even smaller iteration called Smart Car Platform that is supposedly a more affordable electric version of the CMP architecture developed by Tata Consultancy Services and set to underpin no less than seven models, including the all-new Citroen e-C3 and regular C3, Opel's reworked Frontera, as well as several Fiat models including the next Panda iteration.

However, it seems that some folks think it's still insufficient in terms of expansion. In fact, members of the imaginative community of digital car content creators would even advocate for Dodge to join the roster – just like they did with the Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet siblings. More precisely, Nihar Mazumdar, a digital artist and entrepreneur from San Antonio, Texas, has decided to continue his Dodge design projects with a reborn Nitro.

Originally, the Dodge Nitro was a compact SUV produced on the same underpinnings as the second-generation Jeep Liberty for model years 2007 to 2012 in Toledo, Ohio, the United States. It featured a very rugged retro-style design reminiscent of cars from the 1930s, but it wasn't too successful and wasn't renewed for a second iteration. Now, though, only the nameplate would return – this time around as a direct sibling of the European fourth-generation Citroen e-C3, according to the pixel master.

Well, this CGI expert has had numerous Dodge ideas over recent months – his pixel-manipulating fairy paid a visit to the Dodge Intrepid, bringing it into the 2025 model year; he dreamed of a 2025 Dodge Conquest SUV-Coupe based on the Ram Trucks Rampage and even allowed the 2025 Dodge Neon to make a scripted return sending third-generation Peugeot 308 French hatchback vibes into the ether. In fact, now he's also into model year 2026 creations with his hypothetical Dodges and also worked on the next Durango – albeit based on a Jeep, this time around.

For the 2026 Dodge Nitro, though, his vision uses the Citroen model as a template and gives it plenty of novel Dodge EV vibes from the eighth-generation Charger, along with the option to also go AWD. So, do you think a cheap Dodge morphed from a rebadged Citroen could find success in America as a low-cost yet capable electric vehicle?
