The Japanese automaker Honda is preparing for the most significant introduction of the year on the US automotive market – the facelifted 2025 Civic series that brings with it an all-new Civic Hybrid. However, some folks would like to see something even larger from the brand.
Honda is pretty confident that its namesake brand will sell no less than 1.3 million vehicles across America in 2024 – and wants to make sure of that with the introduction of the all-electric Prologue, the arrival of the fuel cell-powered CR-V, an update or two for the Odyssey minivan, and a complete refresh of the popular Civic series coupled with the release of the Civic Hybrid to combat the Toyota Corolla Hybrid.

However, some people still feel that Honda has a few gaps in its lineup – they don't compete in the compact or full-size pickup truck sectors and also don't have a family-oriented full-size SUV in the range. No worries, though, as the imaginative realm of digital car content creators like to fill the void. For example, Nihar Mazumdar is a virtual automotive entrepreneur from San Antonio, Texas, who loves imagining 'what if' scenarios with future cars, SUVs, and trucks.

Not long ago, he also decided to approach the Honda conundrums and opted to envision the model that could fit above the Passport and Pilot in the full-size sector. His unofficial design project is dubbed 'Honda Prospect' and seems inspired by one of the big SUVs that's already on the market – Jeep's Wagoneer. Of course, if Honda ever decided to manufacture such a hulking three-row family-oriented SUV, it would oppose not only the Wagoneer but also models like the Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia or Grand Highlander, Ford Expedition, or the GMC Yukon and Nissan Armada, among others.

So, what do you think? Could Honda extend the manufacturing footprint of the Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) facility in Lincoln, Alabama, to also include such a prospective full-size SUV alongside the other models already in production - the Honda Odyssey, Honda Passport, Honda Pilot, and Honda Ridgeline? Also, would it be enough to equip it with the 3.5-liter J35Y8 V6 from the Pilot with 285 horsepower, or would this larger model need something feistier, like Acura's Type S 3.0-liter J30AC turbo V6 that's good for 355 ponies on full song?

Alternatively, Honda could always enter the full-size (less likely) or compact pickup truck sectors. While the F-Series holds the flagship truck sector hostage for as long as we can remember, the returning unibody compact pickup truck niche is ripe for the taking, and only Hyundai's Santa Cruz plus the best-selling Ford Maverick compete for the crown. In fact, Honda already has experience with unibody trucks since its Ridgeline model is the only one using this kind of platform in the mid-size pickup truck sector.
