Like most car companies active in America, the Japanese automaker is a little less preoccupied with passenger cars than before. Instead, all it can dream of are crossovers, SUVs, and trucks.
That's based on the latest releases – since the reveal of the 2024 GR86 plenty of months ago, the only other passenger car slated for an upcoming arrival at the nationwide dealerships is the 2025 Camry, the ninth generation of the mid-size best-selling sedan. Other than that, it's the 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV coming to replace the affordable Venza and an all-star ensemble of mid-size off-road models.

Those include the i-Force Max hybrid version of the N400 Toyota Tacoma, the returning 2024 Land Cruiser, and the 2025 Toyota 4Runner all-rounder with up to seven seats onboard. Naturally, everyone is enticed about the impending arrival of the latter SUV later this year during the fall season, but the imaginative realm of digital car content creators doesn't forget that the legendary Land Cruiser is already available.

As always, they seek to know what comes next, just like the rumor mill. Well, the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube have a wacky idea, and they imagined the CGI looks of the unannounced, hypothetical 2025 Toyota GR Land Cruiser. Consider this as something logical – the 2024 Tacoma has no less than six grades up for grabs, and that's without the ones related to the 326-hp i-Force Max version that's still unavailable to configure.

The recently announced 2025 Toyota 4Runner will arrive on the market with no less than nine trims - SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road, TRD Off Road Premium, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and Trailhunter! Meanwhile, the 2024 Land Cruiser has just three choices, and one of them is soon going away because it's a limited-series First Edition. As such, it is no wonder that the channel's resident pixel master was asked to imagine the potential looks of a GR Land Cruiser variant.

It's a wacky thought, indeed, but so are the ways of the parallel universes of vehicular CGI – at least most of the time. Besides, this channel is already embarking on a tradition to 'GR everything' from Toyota's rugged side of the business, including the Tundra, Sequoia, and Tacoma. The host even has some hypothetical powertrain details – if the Land Cruiser were to receive the GR or GR Sport treatment, they would love seeing a 3.5-liter under the hood with 450 horsepower and 585 lb-ft on tap hooked to a manual transmission!

As for the visuals, the resident CGI expert did their homework with lots of ritzy color options both inside and outside, added GR badges all over the place, and morphed the rugged styling into something more akin to the Toyota Gazoo Racing side of the action. By the way, if that's not to your liking, not long ago, they also envisioned the hypothetical 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser TRD Pro as it embraced the virtual lifestyle of an extreme off-roader.
