Together with the Ford F-150 and Ram's trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado was one of last year’s top three best-selling models on the U.S. market. Combined, the three accounted for 13 percent of the 14.5 million new vehicles sold in 2020, another proof that trucks hit the American buyer’s soft spot if there was a need for any.
The present-day Silverado is the successor of a long line of Chevy pickup trucks that included the Task Force or Advance-Design series way back in the past. But there was a time when the Silverado name too was a variant of another famous family, the C/K, made well into the early 2000s.

Being closer to our time, C/K Silverados are not difficult to find on the pre-owned market. What’s tricky is to find one that retains all the original hardware, with no crazy tuning done to it, one that lacks the signs the passage of time usually leaves on the metal.

Because February is Truck Month here at autoevolution, we try to find as many such gems as possible. And we think we just might have found one, coming across the depths of time from all the way back in 1993 in pretty much the same configuration as it was when new. What’s more important is that it was incredibly well preserved.

The selling dealer, Garage Kept Motors, says the truck not only lasted, but became timeless thanks to the “meticulous owner care and maintenance.” And that despite it being used for 105,000 miles (169,000 km) since new.

The truck, coming to the world in red and white over a gray interior, is equipped with chrome bumpers and trim, steel 6-lug wheels, and even the original gold bowtie on the front grille, somehow just as shiny as it was decades ago. The interior is extremely well preserved as well, and there are only slight signs of wear on the left side of the driver’s seat.

The truck is powered by the original engine, a 5.0-liter linked to an automatic transmission, with all the parts in running order. It is on sale for $22,900.
