Like any other self–respecting automaker, Toyota's luxury division is diligently taking care of the crossover and SUV affairs these days. But that's only in the real world.
Settling into the title of the most expensive version of the renowned Lexus RX series, the 450h+ plug-in hybrid variant will start sales in America by the end of the year, priced from over $70k and promising to deliver more power, EV range, and features than ever before. Then there's also that great-looking GX.

Recently presented as an all-new 2024 Lexus GX 550 iteration, the twin model of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will retain an aura of exclusivity as it's the only one featuring the 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 mill with 349 horsepower. Acclaimed worldwide, it will probably be a smashing success for those seeking a little luxury during their off-road adventures.

But do remember that Lexus is one of the few automakers that still delivers an excellent range of passenger cars to the US market. For example, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators hasn't forgotten about that, and now the good folks over at car.design.trends have recently focused our attention on this unofficial 'four-door sedan' project made by alexandre.cgartist in a few stylish colors.

In his dreams, the pixel master envisioned a completely new approach for the upcoming fourth-generation Lexus IS compact executive sedan if it morphs into a fully-fledged battery-powered EV. Now refitted as a more spacious liftback, the Lexus IS doesn't care about ICE-powered tradition and cut all design ties with its predecessors.

As such, the humongous radiator grille, made obsolete by the new, zero-emissions powertrain, is nowhere to be seen – replaced with smaller hints of what it used to be. The swooping lines that only featured a few creases here and there have also been abandoned in favor of a fully-fledged edgy styling that plays with ultra-slim LED head and taillights., among other details.

It will be hard to stomach an executive sedan with so little greenhouse, especially at the rear, but that – along with the humongous wheels – makes this concept so darn enticing and sporty. Sure, traditional Lexus buyers might start running amok, crying their undying outrage at the sight of something like this – but it seems that fate favors the bold during these wacky automotive days if we consider the popularity of certain (hideous) BMWs and the recent statement made by the latest Hyundai Santa Fe, among others.

Besides, this concept is not only shown in a concept car-like, raw all-black attire. Instead, the pixel master also plays with some warmer hues – such as a gold-infused green shade or even a pretty purple. So, do we like this alternative Lexus IS EV concept enough to give it our CGI hall pass or not?
