One of the main reasons why pony and muscle cars have survived through trial and tribulation since the sunset of their classic golden era is not just the fact that they were immensely powerful, cheap, or easy to customize and tune. It was also the fact they personified, for many, the American dream.
They are big, nasty, and easy to drive, yet they require a lot of skill to master their true abilities. They can also become excellent platforms for building quarter-mile dragstrip monsters or show cars. Plus, before the modern era, they were definitely cheap.

Now, on the other hand, they are going extinct – like the Chevrolet Camaro, which will bow out after production of the sixth generation's 2024 model year ends in January 2024 with no immediate successor planned. Or they are adapting to the EV lifestyle and shrinking their forces – like Dodge is about to do with the Challenger and Charger that will drop their V8 engines and embark on a Banshee EV journey of discovery with the production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept.

The sad thing is that Dodge reverted the iconic Charger nameplate to a two-door body style in the transformation process, thus making the Challenger obsolete. And so, the Ford Mustang S650 will remain alone to carry the ICE-powered pony and muscle car banner with EcoBoost, Coyote V8 GT, and Dark Horse forces.

But what about the Challenger? Is it all right to let it sink into oblivion? Not at all, many of its fans will say. So, let us at least give it one last thing to do – haul the entire family fast in station wagon format across the vast plains of the imagination realm. There, digital car content creators love to dabble with the idea of a high-powered Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat or Redeye Estate from time to time.

Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, is undoubtedly one of them and thinks now is the right CGI time to fuel our muscle wagon dreams even further – again. But on this occasion, the subject of choice is the Dodge Challenger R/T instead of the mighty SRT Hellcat, although it still has widebody characteristics. Plus, there's also a welcomed CGI change of pace.

As such, the crimson Dodge Challenger R/T widebody station wagon is not only presented in a traditional five-door format but also adopts a sportier three-door Shooting Brake stance. So, which one is your favorite, the Challenger Station Wagon with enough doors for the entire family or the less practical but certainly cooler three-door Challenger R/T Shooting Brake? And is it enough for the R/T oomph, or should we digitally upgrade these widebody estates to SRT Hellcat levels, anyway?
