McLaren has just revealed a one-off version of the 650S Coupe which has been built to promote the brand in China. Just before a tour spanning the country, the 650S by MSO stood still for a few photos that show an exciting combination of style and sportiness.
The one-off is not radically different from a regular 650S Coupe, but its subtle upgrades should convince a lot of people to buy one. McLaren's bespoke division created a special Agrigan Black exterior paint scheme, which is a combination of metallic black and very deep ruby red flake.

New components have also been added, including a redesigned front diffuser and side blades that are manufactured from carbon fiber. These pieces are actually available for order at a price of £7,245 £7,245 ($12,200 /€8,800) and £5,114 respectively ($8,620 / €6,200).

Contrast between the new paint and the carbon components is evident under sunlight, where McLaren says the flake plays with the light and clashes against the satin-finish of the carbon parts and the alloy wheels.

Round the back, MSO fitted a special bumper in the same stile as those on GT3 race cars and trimmed in carbon as well. The cabin features amazing carbon buckets which the company says are derived from the ones in the P1 and reduce the weight of the car by 15 kilograms. Satin carbon fibre features extensively throughout the cabin, which contrasts with the gloss black used to make the buttons and switches pop out visually.

McLaren has a range of new styling options available for the McLaren 650S Coupe and 650S Spider, many of which can also be fitted to the older 12C models. The company will also examine if the MSO one-off special could be put into production after touring the country with it. Knowing China's wealthy are crazy about exclusivity, we'd say it's got a pretty good chance.
