In the grand scheme of automotive things, carmakers have reached the stratosphere already with their quest for the beefiest, most potent, and ultra-luxurious SUV. Examples are today more abundant than anyone imagined just a decade ago, by the way.
They range from quirky and niched stuff like the Aston Martin DBX707 to 'mainstream' Bentley Bentaygas, and from Lambo Urus S and Performante super-SUVs to hulking V12-powered Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badges. And the heat is on to bring even more reinforcements, such as the 715-hp Ferrari Purosangue with coach doors and V12 ethos or the new (ugly) kid on the block, the 738-hp BMW XM Label Red with V8 and PHEV lifestyle.

But what happened to all the other luxury SUVs that have been around for way longer than all these carpet knights? Well, they are alive and doing very well, as some folks still understand that a nicely personalized Mercedes-Benz G-Class or Cadillac Escalade can do much of the same without spending a (considerable) fortune. Only a smaller one, true, if you also want some goodies from across the imaginative realm of the aftermarket world. And there is no need to take our word for granted, as we have a couple of heavenly-matched examples that personify the very best of the eternal yin/yang or light versus dark battle.

Cue the custom-forged wheel experts over at Santa Fe Springs, California-based AG Luxury, who have uncovered a couple of eerily matching body-on-frame SUVs that were customized by the good folks over at MC Customs Miami in Florida with their aftermarket rims, among others. First, there's a Satin Black (top) over Pearl White (bottom) Cadillac Escalade ESV, the veritable epitome of humongous, long-wheelbase SUVs, that rides on a set of 26-inch Y-spoke AGLs like there's no ultra-luxury SUV segment in sight. That certainly puts into the proper perspective the 'smaller' Cullinans and Uruses that certainly can't match the interior space of the ESV. True, unless it's an Escalade-V, it also can't reach their performance – but maybe it doesn't even have to.

Secondly, there's also a Mercedes-AMG G 63 with 577 horsepower on tap highlighted on AG Luxury's social media page because it features a matching/contrasting finish that's darker and a lot more menacing than the Escalade's for the AGL25 monoblock forged wheels dressed in Gloss Black attire. So, which one is your favorite body-on-frame rugged SUV? And, in case the two-tone appearance doesn't suit your needs, we also noticed that California's Platinum Motorsport Group loves to fiddle with the G 63 as well. So, following that recent gray-and-teal commission, they now have a Brabus 700 with all-new 24-inch Brabus ZV wheels and distinctive murdered-out looks that would make Darth Vader as proud as a peacock.
