Toyota is ready to prove the might of its hybrid tech in the endurance scene, as the TS030 Hybrid prototype race car has been entered in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The race team was originally planning to take part in fewer racer, which would have allowed them only a partial entry. But the plan has been revised.
The TS030 will make its racing debut at the six-hour Spa Francorchamps race on May 5th, after which a pair of hybrids will be entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But they will miss the season opening race, the 12 Hours of Sebring.

“The circumstances for the championship changed suddenly in recent weeks and Toyota Racing considers it important to work together with the FIA and ACO to establish a successful future for endurance racing. We have done everything we can to show our support and we look forward to an exciting season, including the opportunity to race two cars at Le Mans,” said Yoshiaki Kinoshita, team president.
