Timeless Taste and Living Isn't As out of Reach As You Might Think: Rent the Prana Yacht

Let's be honest; when you clicked on the image of the pirate-like shanty you see, you probably weren't expecting to see this level of luxury and classic interior design. Moreover, Prana is up for charter and for rather low bucks; you just have to make it to Indonesia to do so.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's a pirate's life for me, and this has nothing to do with the show One Piece; I've always been attracted to tales of sea-faring adventures with hidden loot buried deep into forgotten islands. There's just something mysterious about it all.

Modern-day pirates may differ a bit from those in the stories we read as children. Still, upon seeing Prana, the floating wonder seen in the image gallery, I couldn't help but be transported into a little corner of my mind where I have an eye patch. This compass leads me to my wishes and dreams, and heck, I'll take the peg leg, too; why not?

Luckily for us, you don't need to lose an eye or a leg to feel like captain of the high seas because Prana is a ship currently on Northrop & Johnson's charter list, meaning that your money can buy you a ticket aboard this vessel. All you'll need is at least $126K (€119K at current exchange rates) so that you and 17 other guests can sip rum the way it's meant to be.

While most folks would argue that $126K is a whole lot of cash, you have to remember that this number can be divided by 18, meaning everyone pays an even $7,000 to live like a pirate for one week. That's less than what some folks spend on a one-week stay in Mexico, so I beg you to weigh the options.

Still not convinced? Okay. In that case, I want you to take a moment out of your busy day and follow along with these words for the next few minutes. At the end of it all, you may find that the memories you can create aboard Prana are worth every penny of its charter price.

Now, Prana may come across with that whole old-school feel and look, but it was only built back in 2018, and by boating and yachting standards, it's a mere pup in terms of age. Also, the style of the boat is dubbed Phinisi, a class of engineless boats originating from the cultures of South Sulawesi, hence the presence of sails.

Prana is also the work of Yacht Sourcing Indonesia, a crew responsible for complete yachting and bating services for Indonesian waters. They also consider it the "biggest and most luxurious Phinisi yacht in the world," spanning over 900 sq m (9,687 sq ft) on four decks.

First of all, you'll be getting an authentic boating experience in the sense that Prana is built with traditional means and techniques native to the region. That's over 200 years of know-how poured into it, so yes, you can "Arrr" your way through the day with no problem, sort of.

Remember, Prana is a luxury experience, and that means that you won't be living it up like the pirates of fantasy but rather like kings of floating palaces. Nearly anything you want or need will handled by a crew of 21 members. Sure, some of those folks will be responsible for manning the sails, but that still leaves plenty of pampering to be had.

Speaking of pampering, upon seeing the images in the gallery for the first time, I was reminded of a different kind of luxury, that of actual kings and queens of old, and how their personal vessels probably looked. Just imagine sitting around and having a chat with your friends in this wood-filled haven.

Aside from the countless lounge spaces, I want to bring your attention to the bedrooms this beauty presents. Not only does the beam-to-beam owner's suite invite you to wonderful 270-degree views of the wonderful world, but tones of wood, leather, and textiles are sure to whisk you away from your quotidian lifestyle.

As for the remainder of your guests - you better go for the master bedroom - they too will be living it up in rooms that, honestly, look better than vessels that are chartering for twice, maybe even three times Prana. Be sure to check out the grand and deluxe suites to see what I'm talking about.

Beyond sleeping and lounging around, Prana is also ready with a few features designed to help you burn off some steam and finally relax. There are six paddle boards and six kayaks at your disposal, but there's fishing, snorkeling, and diving gear, too. Did I mention the tender for unedited brunches on nearby beaches?

Once you come back to your Prana, you'll unwind in the spa center while watching the sun of another day setting on the horizon. Go ahead and take a nap before the evening festivities. Upon waking up, proceed with your evening Yoga, meet your friends, grab a bite to eat, maybe a drink, and talk it up until the morning sun shines again. All that for starting with just $7,000 per person per week. Just a little something-something to think about for your next vacation.
