Starlust Pampers Those With Cash To Afford a One-Week Stay Within Its Toy-Filled Walls

Folks, call me a dreamer, but I personally enjoy drooling and daydreaming about living aboard ships the likes of Starlust. Why? Call me crazy, but I see all of this as nothing more than setting some serious life goals, and I'm not kidding; Starlust is currently up for charter for no less than €700K ($742K at current exchange rates) per week during the low season. That's right, people, the Starlust is up for charter to those with the bucks to unlock its "perfect" living standards.

Now, anytime you meet a machine the likes of this one, it's important to note that they're filled with more systems, spaces, and features than we would ever have time in just one article. However, there are plenty of juicy essentials to dabble in, so find your sea legs or throw on a vest, and let's live it up like millionaires for a bit.

Overall, Starlust, as it's called now, is the work of Abeking & Rasmussen, a crew whose work is known worldwide and has been ever since its inception in 1907. That's right; they've been around for over 110 years, and as you'd think, they have experience building naval ships, too, responsible for vessels worldwide.

Well, it's those 110+ years of experience that are poured into the Starlust, and with it, they've crafted a 68.2 m (224 ft) long ship with an 11.6 m (38 ft) beam. But, as large as it may be, this baby offers beds only to 12 guests. The rest of the space is reserved for flawless interiors with the finest materials the industry has to offer, spaces to help you take a load off, and the countless other perks I'm going to run through.

First, let me start off with the exterior styling we see. Think about coming up to this ship docked in some bay. Heck, imagine you've no idea what awaits, but it's all just a tender ride away. Once you see the tender you're in aimed at Starlust, you'll probably look over to your skipper and ask if that's where you're going. He'll just look at you and smile, answering all your questions.

When you finally reach the touching distance of this floating hunk of metal and composite materials, you'll finally step aboard, and it's at this stage that I recommend looking back at the world you left and forgetting about all of it for the next weeks.

After taking that moment of peace and introspection, you'll look around and find yourself in the center of a beach club. Depending on how far into the festivities you find yourself, you'll also be able to just lounge around on a couple of pads, grab a jet ski, and launch countless other toys into the local waters.

This includes kayaks, inflatable SUPS (stand-up paddle board), kayaks, diving gear, and even three e-bikes if you find some uncharted islands. Starlust is even ready with diving gear and a golf driving range with biodegradable balls. Then there's the very tender which brought you to the Starlust, along with two others. In short, there'll never be a dull moment.

Once you've tired of the beach club, the next deck up starts to unveil the start of all the interior spaces you'll call home for the next few days to weeks, and it all starts with an outdoor lounge and dining area, with lateral staircase to the remaining upper decks, but we'll get to those shortly.

For now, it's the main lounge that I invite you to explore or just plain old relax in. Here, guests can relax in any of the numerous seating arrangements, and if you want to escape your social responsibilities, there's a large TV, so big it separates the lounge from the dining hall.

As we make our way up to the higher decks, spaces do get smaller and tighter, but no less lacking in luxury and amenities. Best of all, the blend of cream, brown, and turquoise is out of this world. Speaking of blends, materials of all kinds also mix seamlessly and please the eyes. Even the gym displays an array of colors and materials.

Toward the top of Starlust, something magical happens; you might get a feeling that everything is more and more exclusive, and it is. You'll be able to find a jacuzzi, lounging space for slightly smaller groups or your closest friends, a bar, and a beam-to-beam owner's suite. These are the decks you want to be seen on while rolling in or out of port.
