Some tiny house designs become instantly iconic, and one of them is the beautiful Casita by Cocoon Tiny Homes. It starts with perfect proportions and a unique structure with flat floors across the entire upper level. Add to that a flexible layout, and you're looking at one of the best tiny homes ever built.
From the outside, you might think that the Casita looks just like any other container-style tiny home. There's nothing out of the ordinary about its somewhat plain exterior, and the signature Kiwi style with extra-large doors and generous windows is immediately noticeable. However, this apparently simple dwelling hides a jaw-dropping interior.

The most outstanding feature is, by far, the loft level that boasts full height and flat floors throughout. A beautiful walkway connects the two bedrooms, and there are no raised bed platforms thanks to the flat floors. What this means is supreme comfort and ultimate freedom – owners can play with the bed and furniture arrangement as they wish. Forget the awkward and sometimes difficult-to-access loft bedrooms of regular tiny homes. Inside the Casita, you'll feel right at home.

Every detail contributes to a higher comfort level and adds a touch of luxury. The wide walkway is fitted with an elegant, full-height handrail, just as you would find inside a mansion. A large window is also cleverly added to keep this area filled with light and fresh air. Each bedroom offers full standing height across the whole floor, which means you can say goodbye to the limitations that come with a bed platform. There's ample room for wardrobes and freedom to play around with various configurations and décor styles.

The main bedroom, for instance, includes generous space for furniture items and storage solutions in addition to a lavish, comfortable bed. It can be just as well turned into a loft lounge with a large sofa and a separate office area that can fit in a large desk. Both bedrooms come with long, horizontal windows, which means they get enough natural light for various activities, as well as proper cross-ventilation.

Casita's main floor is all about versatility and incredible spaciousness. No matter the layout, Casita was designed to become a serene sanctuary with almost no limitations between the outdoor and the indoor. The modern tri-fold doors easily slide away, turning the entire main floor into a nature oasis, bathed in light and surrounded by gorgeous views.

One layout option places the lounge at the center of the home and the kitchen at one end. This setting turns the living area into the heart of the home. A large sofa is nestled right under the walkway, which makes it extra cozy. To one side, the staircase doubles as an elegant and modern bookcase with an adorable tiny nook for a compact office. On the other side, the open-space kitchen offers easy access to food and drinks for a cocktail party with friends and family.

In this configuration, Casita reveals a gorgeous U-shaped kitchen that could easily be every chef's dream kitchen. It includes space for a full-size fridge, a large pantry, a two-burner gas hob, and a dishwasher. The custom-made cabinetry looks high-end and is perfectly complemented by the tiled backsplash. In addition to the generous countertop space, this roomy kitchen comes with an integrated breakfast bar strategically placed in front of a window. It can seat up to three people without taking away any of the kitchen's walking space. Two gorgeous oversized windows bring the outside in, turning this part of the house as well into a wonderful indoor/outdoor area.

Another clever feature adds storage space without the classic overhead cabinets. Instead of those, the Casita features custom-made wooden shelves above the entire U-shaped kitchen furniture. It's a great way to use every inch of available space without overcrowding the area.

The opposite end of the house is occupied by a separate utility room and a spa-like bathroom. The utility room boasts ample room for a washing machine, a wardrobe, and additional storage, and there's a dedicated back door for direct, private access.

The bathroom is also spacious enough to allow a multitude of options. Future owners can choose a fancy full-size bathtub or a spa-like shower cabin in addition to the conventional toilet and elegant vanity with integrated storage.

Another layout option places the kitchen at the center of the home, which allows more space for the lounge room at the end of the house. This layout creates more room for socializing and entertaining guests by turning the lounge into a supremely spacious open area with stunning views all around.

All in all, the Casita offers 50 square meters (538 square feet) of living space and a highly customizable layout. It's just as comfortable and luxurious upstairs as it is downstairs, and it displays a sophisticated contemporary style while also emphasizing its connection to the outdoors. Pricing for this dreamy tiny home starts at NZD 113,000 ($69,580) for the basic shell and NZD 239,000 ($147,000) for the full build.
