After Elon Musk tried to embarrass Porsche by drag racing a Cybertruck against a 911 across a quarter-mile while towing another 911 model, people started drag racing the Cybertruck with every chance they got. Last week, we saw a Cyberbeast go against a 1,014 horsepower, 1,095 lb-ft Hummer EV. The Tesla pickup won without breaking a sweat. Today, we're witnessing another titanic battle between the Cyberbeast and the all-American favorite, the Ford F-150 Raptor R.
You probably already figured out how this will turn out, but like with every amazing drag race, it's not about the destination but the 1/4-mile journey to the finish line.

Let's start with the famous Ford F-150 Raptor R. This non-EcoBoost model is AWD and costs almost $100,000. What do you get for that amount of cash?

Well, a red-blooded American 5.2-liter (315-cubic-inches) V8 supercharged powerplant that can deliver 700 hp (710 ps) with 640 lb-ft or 868 Nm of torque. It weighs 5,959 lbs. or 2,703 kilograms, which is respectable when you factor in that it goes from 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds.

On top of everything else, it also looks fantastic. Some might even dare say it's the perfect vehicle to roam around Leonida (Florida) from Grand Theft Auto VI. Just saying that makes me wonder if we'll get proper drag-racing gameplay mechanics in GTA 6.

Returning to reality, opposite the F-150 is the newly-released Tesla Cybertruck. Of course, we're talking about the top-of-the-line $96,390 Cyberbeast model.

This steel-forged baby has three electric motors delivering up to 845 horsepower (857 ps) and produces 686 lb-ft or 930 Nm of torque. If we subtract the rollout, the Cyberbeast has been clocked to reach 60 mph (96.5 kph) in just 2.6 seconds. However, with all that weight, 6,799 lbs. or 3,084 kg, its top speed hits a ceiling of 130 mph or 209 kph.

Switching over to some actual racing, the F-150 is no slouch, and it tried its hardest during the first attempt. But it simply couldn't keep up with all that instant acceleration and torque from the Cyberbeast. The latter won by such a vast distance it wasn't even fair.

Mat Watson from "carwow" was driving the F-150 Raptor R, and while he knew there was no chance to keep up, he still wanted to get a better start on the second attempt. He did have a great launch, but it was useless nonetheless.

After clocking in their times, the drivers called it a day. The Tesla Cyberbeast won in 11.2 seconds, just like with the Hummer EV. The Ford F-150 Raptor R finished in a respectable 12.4 seconds.

A couple of roll races followed, where the Cyberbeast dominated with no mercy again. Even during the brake test, the Tesla was the first to completely stop, embarrassing the F-150.

To try and make things interesting, they went for a 100m dash (109 yards). The fun part was that the Tesla had to go off-road while the Ford stayed on the tarmac.

They each won a race after the first couple of tries, which slightly turned the tables. But during the third 100m dash, the Tesla Cyberbeast driver went for the gold and brought it home like Baldur's Gate III at The Game Awards.

While you can't tell the true measure of a pickup truck just from a 1/4-mile drag race, it was still incredibly fun to see old-school meet the new kid on the block.
