The predecessor to the popular Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra lineups, Chevrolet and GMC's C/K trucks appeared in 1960 and became the go-to destination for GM enthusiasts for the next four decades (and a bit, as production ended in 2002).
Among them, it is widely believed that the third generation (1973 to 1991) may be the most appreciated by fans – who lovingly nicknamed them 'Square Body' due to their appearance. However, GM called them the 'Rounded Line' after the second iteration was dubbed 'Action Line.' Anyway, with production in the United States but also in Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil, it's fair to say these models were selling pretty well during the times.

They were also built to last, and many serve as the basis for great restoration or modification projects. A particular category is that of restomods – lots of aficionados want the classic and timeless looks of these trucks adorned with modern creature comfort features that make them more comfortable, easy to drive, and more powerful – or all of the above. Sometimes, the craving is so big that even the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is mesmerized by the virtually infinite possibilities of customization.

For example, on social media, this automotive concept designer, better known as joshhdesigns, recently cooked up a vintage yet futuristic 'Square Body' – a 1978 GMC 3500 dually. This pixel master is used to such projects – he loves to play with old-school models and make them contemporary monsters that would make any slammed and widebody aftermarket expert blush with envy. Usually, they're completely wishful thinking – like that one time when a bespoke 1969 Dodge Charger got treated to a Ferrari V8 swap, for example.

But this time, the 1978 GMC 3500 may or may not remain a figment of imagination. This is hinted by a comment from a France-based aftermarket outlet named BIG Customs Garage, which announced that the pixel master will soon receive additional projects – so maybe this was a rendering-to-reality project where the company asked the CGI expert to envision the restomod truck prior to actually restoring and modifying it according to the client's wishes.

Well, if this is a dually that will become part of the real world, it will be one for the ages. Now, let us suppose we understand the CGI video presentation embedded below correctly. In that case, the 1978 GMC 3500 will be equipped with a fully tricked-out air suspension, a custom widebody kit, a two-tone exterior appearance, an elevating wooden-laid bed, and a cockpit that's clearly SEMA Show material! So, what do you think? Could this mesmerizing truck become real with something mighty under the hood, as hinted by the yellow-wall performance tires and the massive chromed wheels?
